Unnao, Uttar Pradesh: A shocking murder case has come to light in Unnao district where a woman, along with her lover, allegedly slit her husband’s throat, beheaded him, and dumped the body in a drain to hide the crime. The revelation was made by police on Thursday following a joint operation.
According to Unnao Police, the gruesome murder took place in the Achalganj police station area. The victim, identified as Imran alias Kale Khan, was found dead near a drain in the Kanchankheda village area. His headless body was recovered after locals reported a pool of blood near the bridge on Monday. The victim was a resident of Akhlaq Nagar, under Ganga Ghat police station limits.
Police investigations have revealed that Imran’s wife, Sheeba (24), and her lover, Farmaan alias Chunna (26), were in a long-standing illicit relationship. When Imran began objecting to their closeness and frequent arguments broke out at home, Sheeba and Farmaan allegedly plotted his murder.
Superintendent of Police directed a combined team from Achalganj Police, the Special Operations Group, and the Surveillance Cell to investigate. The suspects — Sheeba and Farmaan — were arrested, and during interrogation, they reportedly confessed to killing Imran with the help of Farmaan’s friend Rafiq Qureshi alias Lalli.

Circle Officer (Bighapur), Rishikant Shukla, confirmed the conspiracy and stated that Sheeba and Farmaan carried out the murder using a sharp knife. After the murder, they disposed of the body in the drain to mislead investigators. Based on the suspects’ confession, police recovered the murder weapon and two mobile phones used during the planning.
Following their arrest, both accused were produced in court and have since been sent to jail. Police are now on the lookout for the third accused, Rafiq Qureshi, who remains absconding.
The incident has sent shockwaves across the region, raising concerns about rising domestic violence and crimes of passion. The police have assured that all those involved will be brought to justice.
